You don’t need ip address and port servers to configure internet settings on a smart devices such as android smartphones & tablets, iPads and iPhones. All you need is your networks’ apn.

  • APN protocol (should be greyed out or not displayed): IPv4
  • Enable/Disable APN (should be greyed out or not displayed): Box ticked
  • Bearer (if displayed): Unspecified
  • Press the menu button
  • Tap SAVE, then press the back button
  • Tap the name you gave for your apn settings (if using an HTC device skip next step) to make the grey button near it green or blue.
  • Press the home button (if using a Samsung or other manufacturer’s device then you have finished)

ANDROID PHONE INTERNET SETUP (GENERAL)

Step 1
Navigate to the settings menu of your Android smartphone. This can be done via an icon in the apps menu on any Android device and sometime via the notifications bar.

Step 2
In the settings menu, you need to find the wireless and network settings. On most devices, click the ‘More’ button but this might not be same for your specific device.

Step 3
One you have found the wireless and network settings, click on the Mobile Networks button.

Step 4
Make sure the mobile data option is ticked. This might solve your problem but if not, click on Access Point Names (APN).
Step 5
I have already provided you with a list of different APNs to choose from so you might be able to fix the problem by simply selecting the right one. If this doesn’t work then click the menu button in the corner and select New APN.

Step 6
Here you need to fill out all the details for your particular network. Enter the details and click Save in the menu.

Your new APN will now show up in the list for you to select. Give it a few moments to connect and you should have your internet connection. If you still don’t have a connection, check your APN details have been correctly entered.

FOR WINDOWS PHONES INTERNET SETUP

How to Enable a Cellular Data Network Connection
In order to access a cellular data network, you must have a data plan as part of your cellular service plan. Activating the cellular data connection on Windows Phone devices is just a matter of “flipping a switch.” Tap on Settings from the App menu.

From the Settings screen, tap on Cellular.
On the Cellular screen, slide the Data Connection to On and enable 3G Connection for the fastest data transfer speeds.
Your Windows Phone device is now configured to access your cellular data network and connect using the fastest speed possible for your area.

APN settings
Apn settings let you control the cellular data connection for your phone. You shouldn’t need to change anything if your connection is working the way you like. But if you’re having connection problems, changing one or more settings may help.
To open cellular settings, in the App list, tap Settings   > Cellular.

Note:  The settings that appear vary by device.

The Internet access point name (APN) is the address your phone uses to connect to the Internet. By default, the Internet APN is set automatically when your phone is first set up.

If your cellular data connection isn’t working, try entering a new Internet APN based on your location and mobile operator. If you can connect to a Wi-Fi network on your phone or you’re near your computer, try searching online to find the Internet APN settings for your mobile operator.

To add an Internet APN
  1. Tap Add Internet APN.
  2. Tap APN, and then type the address for the APN to use.
-         Each network and it’s required apn settings. Use the pan list provided above to configure this.
  1. Tap Save .
Good, you now have internet running on your windows smartphone.

SUPPORT
If you encounter any difficulties, you can email me warrenrank@gmail.com and I would be glad to help you configure or setup internet on your device.

Good luck.
