To post and share pictures on Twitter requires a third-party tool or service. In the steps below, we will be using Twitpic
to post pictures to Twitter from a computer and in e-mail and the
default Twitter picture client to post pics from your phone to Twitter.
Note:
When uploading a picture to Twitter a link is created in your tweet. To
view the image, the reader must click that link or the picture icon.
There is no way around this.
Posting a picture on Twitter from your computer
- Visit the Twitpic web page.
- Click the button to sign in with Twitter unless you want to create a new Twitpic account.
- After signed in click the Upload photo link.
- Browse to where the photo is you want to upload.
- Add a message with the photo if you want and then click the Upload button.
Posting a picture on Twitter from an e-mail attachment
- Visit the Twitpic web page.
- Click the button to sign in with Twitter unless you want to create a new Twitpic account.
- After signed in click the Upload photo link.
- In the upload page a custom e-mail address will be listed for your account. Save this e-mail address into your e-mail address book.
- After you know your e-mail address, send a e-mail to that address with the picture saved as an attachment and the Subject line containing your Twitter message.
Posting a picture on Twitter from your phone
There is a free Twitter app for the Apple iPhone,
Android phones, and the Blackberry that are all capable of posting
pictures to your Twitter account. Download the app to your phone, sign
into your Twitter account, and create a new tweet. When creating the
tweet click the drop down arrow box in the bottom right-corner of the
message to display the option to post a picture. This may vary depending
on your phone and your version of the Twitter application.
